In a pot (caquelon in French) over a portable stove, different cheeses are melted ( 2 or 3 for the savoyard recipe : It can be Comté, Tomme de Savoie, Beaufort, Gruyère or Emmental) with white wine, pepper, salt, nutmeg, garlic … Once the preparation is ready, you spear a piece of bread on a fork and dip it in the common pot and eat it! Usually you drink white wine or black tea with this meal and eat pickles and boiled potatoes. Bon appétit !
